with 4 comments

Nepal is one of the world’s least developed countries, according to the United Nations. If you’re interested, there are currently 49 least developed countries, the majority of them in Africa.

Since I still haven’t made it to Mozambique, or even Lesotho, Nepal is the first least developed country I’ve visited. Curiously enough, Zimbabwe isn’t on the list. Yet…?

  3. Mozambique and Lesotho are definitely worth a visit. Not just because they are so very near (when you are back in South Africa), but because its astonishing how jumping just over the border will land you back fifty or more years in development terms. It can be like another world at times.
